You awaken in The VEDLT, one of those shattered fragments. When mortals die, their souls are not simply laid to rest. They are carried across the ethereal void and auctioned among the powers of the cosmos, claimed by the gods, stars, or Void Princes who would use them to strengthen their realms. Within this universe, dark sorcerers can form pacts with these Void Princes, trading souls for unimaginable power. The most terrifying of these servants become Lich Kings, immortal tyrants whose souls are bound to their patrons in the Void.
